Salt.....A Miracle

Salt is an important ingredient in our diet as it plays a vital role in water retention, muscle contraction, and contains nutrients that are vital to the digestive system. Too little sodium in the body can result in dehydration because the cells are unable to retain water. On the other hand, too much sodium in one’s diet from salty foods may increase the risk of high blood pressure. So the primary question is -

How much salt is too much for your body?

Rock salt is superior to table salt because of its high quantities of minerals and also lack of chemicals and additives. However, it is coarse to touch and also does not mix in food easily as table salt. Hence, people use latter than the rock salt. Now a days, due to pollution that are flushed into sea water, quality of rock salt is questionable. This results in using refined salt.
Good quality rock salt can be obtained from certain places. This has many health benefits and also helps in treating many disorders. The following are some health benefits of rock salt :

·         This salt kills  bacteria which is present in the airway and aid in removal of mucus present.

·         Sinus inflammation is  reduced with rock salt.

·         Rock salt contains many minerals that are essential for the body. These minerals increase the immune system.

·         It contains iron, magnesium, copper and, calcium that are essential for many organs of the body. It also contains more than 50 additional minerals that are beneficial for the body.

·         Rock salt stimulates digestion and also improves appetite.

·         Bowel functioning is improved and also acidity is reduced.

Good luck and God bless.

Acne

Coconut oil for acne is the best way to get out of rough and acne prone skin. In today’s world, almost every person is suffering from acne. The main reason behind is increase in environment pollution.
A most common belief is that acne is a problem of oily skin and one must stay away from skin care products which are oily. Yet, coconut oil may be used for acne prone skin. This is due to certain reasons listed below:
  • Coconut oil has two important acids called, lauric acid and caprice acid. These acids covert the infective acids present on the skin into monolaurin and monoaprin, therefore protecting the skin from infections. This makes the skin youthful and flawless.
  • It contains another important component, vitamin E. This vitamin also regulates the production of sebum and also unclogs the pores of the skin for preventing acne and pimple breakouts.
  • It even reduces the redness and pain on the skin.
  • The most important exceptional reason is the coconut oil helps in balancing the hormones and improves the metabolic rate.
  • It even prevents skin cancer
Coconut oil along with apple cider vinegar is very effective. Many dermatologists suggest this combination to cure serious acne conditions.
Apply Coconut Oil for Acne---
One has to clean the skin completely with a gentle cleanser. This opens up the pores of the skin such that coconut oil penetrates into the skin and nourishes it. Usually, virgin or organic coconut oil is beneficial when compared to ordinary coconut oil. Apply a thin coat of coconut oil on the face and massage gently. Now, let the oil stay on the skin for nearly 15 – 20 minutes such that it may be absorbed by the skin. Then rinse the face for removing excess oil from your skin. This helps in unclogging and cleansing the pores and also in eliminating waste products from your skin. Thus, it controls acne breakouts and also diminishes acne scars.
Which Coconut Oil ----
You need to pick up the best oil to use on acne. Do not use crude, unrefined oil as it may contain dust and therefore aggravates acne. The best choice is the Virgin Coconut Oil.
Coconut oil for acne cannot be considered as a permanent cure. It just improves healing process. But, it is better than    many other lotions and creams. It is a safer and cheaper option and thus, anyone can afford it.

Take care and God bless.

Woman Heart

This is probably one of the biggest health myths: that it's just men who are at risk of heart disease. Researchers have now busted that myth. Doctors note that statistics prove that women, especially those who have attained menopause, are prone to heart ailments, and also less likely than men to recover.

When it comes to numbers, the incidence of cardiovascular diseases in men is still higher than women, but it is increasingly becoming common in the latter and the consequences much worse.More women have died from heart disease than men, since women are twice as likely to die within the first few weeks of suffering a heart attack than men.

The number of cardiovascular diseases in women in India is increasing rapidly and accounts for 17 percent female mortality. Heart disease kills twice as many women as all cancers combined.
One of the biggest reasons for women becoming victims to heart ailments is lifestyle-related.

In the US and Europe, more women are taking up smoking, while men are quitting. In India too, you see a lot more women smoking these days. You have these fancy hookah bars which are also popular. Smoking again strips you of a protective cover and is a big contributing factor to heart ailments.

One of the reasons for it is smoking. To add to that is the increase in the level of stress that women face - work-related or whatever.

Obesity, hypertension, diabetes and depression are other risk factors.

Unlike in men, where chest pain in the centre is one of the symptoms, in women, the signs are much more subtle. There is no severe chest pain, but a general weakness and discomfort. This leads to women ignoring the problem until late.

Also, in women, coronary artery disease usually affects the smaller arteries, which causes less severe symptoms. But the outcome is much worse.

Another feature of women - that of high tolerance for pain - may also act against them in this case.

Women have a tendency to underplay the symptoms. If there is a mild pain, they will ignore it as gas. If a man has a pain, he is more likely to seek help, and that helps detect the problem. So there needs to be an attitudinal change.

For women in the menopausal age and others, the only way out to cut the risk factor is keeping fit. It could be through regular exercising, controlling cholesterol levels, diabetes and hypertension, cutting down on alcohol and salt intake, and kicking the butt.

Since Indians are so prone to heart diseases, more care should be taken to cut the risk factors.

Take care and God bless.

Psychotherapy

Sometimes we all want to change certain situations in life. We all want to manifest a perfect romantic life, peaceful financially abundant self, a successful position in a multinational... the list goes on. Flow dreaming is a technique that helps you alter your life. It is unique in its own way. It makes you realise your own powers, by going through a creative, changeable yet hidden aspect of your life. Here, flow is the movement of energy that moves smoothly in our universe.

It is an energy of information that is, was or potentially may exist. Flow dreaming is all about flow of information about your personal situation. All we need to do is manage this information with our mind in a positive way. It is similar to quantum interconnectedness, where every thought that comes to our mind affects the topic we are thinking about.

The knock at the door you just sensed a moment before it happened! It symbolises that somehow the incidents in our life are connected with our thoughts. Your conscious mind is the part of the flow of energy. When you think something and it happens, it’s because of the emotions attached with the connection.

Mostly, we pass each day of our life by not paying any attention to the thoughts, emotions we are sending into our flow. All day we are busy managing the physical form, not giving a single thought to the internal form. Flow responds to our thoughts and desires. Thus, we can shape the the flow of information by putting our emotions to it. All you need to do is convince yourself of the flow of thoughts that the brain creates. When you daydream, you detach yourself from the physical world. Instead of making yourself unaware, in flow dreaming you pay attention to the flow of thoughts — similar to daydreaming with open eyes — and alter them accordingly.

Daydream ---- imagine your thoughts fully aligned with your internal self. Hold on to it and feel the direction it is moving towards. This is the creation part of flow dreaming. Let your mind feel it. This phase is different from meditation. Do not clear your mind. Open it, see and feel the thought. Now add feelings to your thoughts. The flow responds to emotions. If you feel joy, your flow becomes joyous. If you feel gloomy, it becomes gloomy. If you feel happy, the universe gets a chance to manifest it for you. It responds to even the minutest of the emotions.

At times one might be a little hesitant because of our conscious state of mind. Relax. Just feel the emotions along with the actual things you desire for. Sense the happiness. Just follow the flow of emotions. Flow takes care of how, when and where. With the help of emotions you create a blueprint of your desires. Do it everyday. Speak the language of positive emotion. And the rest happens!

God bless your effort.

Genetic Disorders

Millions of children are born with
genetic disorders year after year. Parents of these children suffer great pain, and need to spend a great deal of money for treatment. While the state is among those topping the list in genetic disorders, awareness is too little.

With proper medical counselling, our experts match the genetic characteristics of potential couples, chart the possibilities systematically, and offer advice. Simple scans can detect serious genetic disorders during early pregnancy, so that parents can take informed decisions. After all, why should we suffer when we can avert a situation, or nip things in the bud? Babies born with genetic disorders such as chromosomal abnormalities, Down’s Syndrome, thalassemia, sickle cell disease, Cat cry, Klienfelters Syndrome, and Turner’s Syndrome undergo unexplainable trauma.

Chromosomal abnormalities are associated with retarded physical and mental development. In the case of sex chromosomal abnormalities, the problem is that patients suffer from amenorrhea (absence of menstruation), sterility and/or repeated abortions. Since the type of disease, signs and symptoms in single gene disorders vary, proper screening is advised.

Premarital stage is the best time to stave off these complications. To scientifically ensure a healthy baby even before marriage, take time to find out more about your family pedigree, make a list of genetic diseases of your near and far relatives, and undertake counselling.

Some common questions---

Inheritance in the family, abnormalities in chromosomes, marriages within close relatives, pollution, radiation, infections, hormone imbalance, autoimmune disorder and drugs.
signs and symptom----
Repeated abortions, intrauterine foetal deaths, stillbirths, same type of abnormalities in the family currently or in the past.

Thanks a lot. God bless your effort.

Children and Sleep

Parents are often think that their kids are fine. They overlook their sleeping times.

Too many fizzy drinks and not enough bedtime stories are reasons why younger generation does not sleep as well as their grandparents.

Today's seven to 14-year-old children go to bed almost 40 minutes later than their grandparents.
They are also much more likely to snack on crisps and fizzy drinks before bedtime while their grandparents enjoyed cocoa or hot milky drinks such as Horlicks.

Around 54 per cent of the older generation either had a story read to them or had a quiet time to read independently - whereas only 27 per cent of today's youngsters read before bedtime and 58 per cent watch television.

If parents ditched the bad habits, bedtime would be less stressful and their offspring would sleep better.

Only 21 per cent of  younger generation spent more than three hours each day playing outside.
That compares to the 28 per cent who said their grandchildren now spend less than 30 minutes playing outside on a school day.

Seventy per cent of grandparents ate dinner before 6pm but only 38 per cent of youngsters do so now. Just over half, 51 per cent, eat between 6pm and 7.30pm. For 95 per cent of the older generation, the evening meal was home cooked but now a quarter of children eat ready-made meals.

Seven to 14-year-olds still need a good nine or 10 hours sleep a night, doctors are advice this.

Not eating too close to bedtime and avoiding caffeine-fueled fizzy pop is also important, as is a well balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, doctors added.

So parents and grandparents please look after your kids. Good luck and God bless your effort.

Living Long

Sit less and live more. Funny. No no its not funny. Researchers showing strong prove of that.

Sitting less than three hours a day may increase your life expectancy by two years, a new study has claimed.

Being sedentary is an independent risk factor and is almost as harmful to health as smoking.

This translates into the fact that no matter how much time a person spends in the gym or how many vegetables one consumes, being on your butt for long periods of time every day can shave years off your life.

Sitting for long period is almost as harmful to health as smoking, saying Researchers.

The scientist aren't exactly sure of how being on feet increases your life span, but previous research has shown that a person's large leg muscles are inactive while seated.

Standing activates these muscles, which helps the body manage blood sugar and metabolism cholesterol.

Ultimately, this reduces the risk for heart disease. A few easy ways to get on the feet after a long week at work includes getting off the couch.

So whenever you got time, lets go for a walk with your friend or colleague in office premises.

Good luck and God bless your effort.

Friendship

When someone has a mental health problem or is experiencing mental distress, it is important to try to keep friendships going. People with mental health problems often want to see their friends less than usual.

Friendship can play a key role in helping someone live with or recover from a mental health problem and overcome the isolation that often comes with it. It’s natural to worry when a friend is troubled and most of us don’t want to give up on a friend in distress, however difficult it may be to support them. Many people who do manage to keep their friendship going feel that it’s stronger as a result.
Friendships work both ways.

How does mental ill health affect friendships....

1.People with more severe forms of mental illness have smaller social networks than others and have more family members than friends in their social circle.

2.People with smaller social networks, with fewer intimate relationships, find it more difficult to manage social situations.

3.People with more long-lasting mental health problems often have relationships mainly with other people with mental health problems.

4.People with mental health problems often anticipate rejection from other people because of the stigma associated with mental health. They may avoid social contact, as a form of ‘self-stigma’.

Alcohol Addiction

Regular beer  can be quite an antioxidant boost but a lot of calories to go with it. Doctors suggest sticking to light beer if you must have beer.

You know that alcohol in excess can lead to that, dreaded beer belly, we often forget about this over weekends when you just want to let your hair down its all about the moment of indulgence . So we just get quite carried away instead of worrying about anything - least of all health and the sagging skin. But if you are going to indulge yourself, it’s worth knowing which alcohols are good and which ones aren’t.

1.    Heart -  Alcohol as a blood thinner enhances your ensymes and gives you a stimulation in terms of movement and energy

2.   Antioxidants found in alcohol are very important to good health.

3.   Moderate alcohol consumption can lower the incidence of coronary heart diseases, type 2 diabetes, as well as result in an overall reduction in mortality.

4.   Higher bone density in postmenopausal women.

Brain Damage

Turning the volume too high on your earphones may damage nerve cells that carry signals to the brain, doctors said so.

Noises louder than 110 decibels are known to cause hearing problems such as temporary deafness and tinnitus (ringing in the ears), but the study for the first time observed the underlying cell damage.

Nerve cells that carry electrical signals from the ears to the brain have a coating called the myelin sheath, which helps the electrical signals travel along the cell.

Exposure to loud noises - noise over 110 decibels - can strip the cells of this coating, disrupting the electrical signals.

This means the nerves can no longer efficiently transmit information from the ears to the brain.

However, the coating surrounding the nerve cells can reform, letting the cells function again as normal.

This means hearing loss can be temporary, and full hearing can return.

How do You be Happy

You can starts with putting something on your desk that makes you smile – switch them up every few months, and think outside the photo album.

Schedule something during every workday – maybe lunch at a new place, 15 minutes reading a good book on your break, or a phone call to an old colleague/friend to catch up.

Choose your projects carefully – when you’re excited about a project, you’re naturally more focused. Aim to be in that state most of the time. Seek these projects out and do what it takes to land them.

Get a grip on your time – time wasters like random web surfing and instantly responding to email are fun in the moment, but weigh you down like eating too much fast food.

Make friends – try to grab coffee with someone new each week. Social ties are a strong component of happiness, and knowing people personally makes work less chilly.

Take the long view - you can perceive ambiguous comments as slights, and ruminate on them all day or you can remind yourself that you will have absolutely no memory of this incident two years from now. One mindset will definitely make you happier than the other.

Choose the bigger life – we often like to keep things simple and avoid rocking the boat but while trying to improve a popular product, or reform a storied culture is a huge risk, in the end, we only live once so spend out and you may just buy happiness.

God bless you effort.

Diabetes

Exercise, along with good nutrition is a key to good diabetes control. Good diabetes control means keeping your blood sugar level as close to normal as possible. Exercise is especially good for people with diabetes.

By exercising regularly, you get rich benefits, which include:

1. Healthier blood sugar level: Exercise usually lowers blood sugar. Also, exercise may help insulin work better.

2. Reduction in weight: This weight loss also helps improve the body’s ability to use insulin, and this lowers the blood sugar to a healthier level.

3. Reduced risk of heart disease: Exercise increases the heart’s pumping power, lowers the blood pressure and improves the blood circulation.

4. Reduction in stress and tension: It eases stress, depression and negative thought and increases your self-esteem.

Diabetes and Exercise

Before starting any exercise programme, check with your doctor. Your activity must be planned to fit in with your meal plan.

If you plan on doing heavier exercise (aerobics, running, squash, or handball), you may need to eat a little more, such as half of a club sandwich and a cup of low-fat milk.

Orange Juice

A glass of orange juice daily can make you more beautiful by improving your skin, hair and nails.

They attribute the benefits to the vitamin C, potassium and folic acid it contains.
Vitamin C is essential in the production of collagen, along with super nutrient Lutein, the Mirror reported.

A 200 ml glass of orange typically contains 60 mg vitamin C and equates to 100 per cent of an adult's recommended daily amount.

Beauty experts are starting to see the benefits of a glass of this nutrient packed product, realising it isn't just what you put on your body but what you put into it too.

The essential nutrients you need for healthy skin, hair and nails are most beneficial when ingested as part of your diet.

Power of the Mind

If we focus on our mind carefully, we see thoughts keep coming and going. Thoughts that we think affect our future and life to a much greater way than we can ever imagine. Often we meet people who are so successful in their lives. We meet the opposite of the former population and wonder why they are such pessimists and lead such failure lives.

What we focus on is what our reality becomes. The distinguishing factor between these two sets of population is what their thoughts and beliefs are about life. So let us dig a little bit deeper into this process and really understand the importance of “conscious thinking”.

Here are some ways conscious thinking:
1. Being conscious of your thoughts:   What are your current thoughts. Look and the questions discussed above to realize if a particular is worth your attention and energy.

2. Thought transformations:   If you wish to change a particular thought then reconstruct it in your mind. For example: “I never succeed in my work.” If this is your recurring thought and you wish to change it, you have to begin thinking reverse of it, which will be “I always succeed in my work”.

* Make it your affirmation:    So taking forward the above mentioned example, where you have transformed your thought from “I never succeed in my work” to “I always succeed in my work”, this statement needs to be embedded in your belief system. The best way to do that is to write it 21 times for 21 days before you go to bed.

Thanks a lot. God bless your effort.
